  • New features:
    • Configurable number of maximum duplicates.
    • Password strength can now be sett in the options.
    • Pulsing color for the abort button text, this indicates that random data is being gathered from mouse/keyboard when that type of data is being required.
    • Hints in boxes grayed-out by mask or pronounceable options telling users how to reenable those options.

    • Virtually spelling mistakes fixed.

    • Remote control via UDP is not interrupted by Truly Random alert boxes anymore.
    • Answer no on question box “Unable to display data, do you want to save it to a file instead?” now returns to the main window without trying to generate an impossible amount of data to main window.

    • Exactly what characters that are to be used when generating "Random characters" is now configurable trough a right click popup menu. See program help for more information.
    • Ten user defined characters sets are now available for masks. Using mask <d#> where # is a single decimal. The characters are configured by right clicking on the mask box and selecting configure.
    • Mask {}, lets you use random strings instead of just letters. For example you could randomly select from the names Tom, Dick and Harry.

    • Description of 'G' mask added to the help file.

    • Random values in bell curves aka normal distribution.
    • Random fractions, between two numbers.
    • Support for exponential numbers.

    • The text for the Chaos meter and Volume indicators now makes in clearer that these indicators should be ignored in pseudo random mode.

    • Mask: Syntax error would at times be shown when no more unique random values could be generated, fixed.
    • Mask: Data generation was not always aborted after a syntax error, fixed.
    • Part of a random string could on rare occasions come out as blank (an empty string), fixed.
    • Exception errors/messages while the application was running would at times generate an infinite number of error messages on program exit, fixed.
    • Changing the date format on the PC could generate an date critical error on startup, stopping the application from starting, fixed.
[ Sep.22-06 ] - Truly Random v1.47 released.
  • Other:
    • Reduced delay for volume to Normalize on startup.
    • Added graphical icons on main window buttons.
    • Added option to switch to pseudo random if sound randomness is too low.
  • Bugs:
    • Some soundcards would cause the scanning for soundcards on startup to hang.
    • If the fix above does not work, a option to disable soundcard scans in the future will be given the next time the application starts.
    • When no soundcards was detected the Truly random generator option would become available after the generate button was pressed once, fixed.
    • On old and slow computers the Chaos level meter would cause the application to hang, fixed. The chaos level meter will now be automatically disabled if the computer is too slow.
[ Aug.13-06 ] - Truly Random v1.46 released.
  • New features:
    • Handles changes in the default soundcard while Truly Random is running, changes can be made in the windows multimedia mixer.
    • If audio input line on a soundcard is changed while Truly Random is running, normalize volume will now shift to the new channel.
  • Bugs:
    • Separator text is now longer added to the last text entry, so that the separator would separate between the last entry and nothing.
    • More robust mask handling, undefined mask strings could cause the program to not process a mask string. Fixed.

    • Normalize volume feature adjusts MS Windows' volume automatically to the best level.
    • Color coded text on the volume gauge gives more easily understood information about the current input volume level.

    • Obsolete registration instructions in nag window fixed.
    • Better handling of computers without sound cards.
    • Empty mask could make the program hang on exit, this would also block normal program exit.
    • Registration window was garbed in Windows 95, fixed.

    • Hint text (mouse over) for volume and "Normalize volume" gives dynamic information about the current status of the sound input.
    • Color coding of the "Normalize volume" text shows how well the PID controller is handling the fluctuations in the input sound volume.

    • During data generation, the interface would at times freeze for a period.
    • “You are trying to generate more unique strings than there are possible combinations in your current configuration” warning, was displayed even when generation was aborted.

    • Enter key in mask field no longer starts generation of numbers, it just adds a new mask line.

    • The math expression tan added (same as tg).
